Missions We Support

The Kirk supports our local Louisa, Spotsylvania, and Orange communities, as well as causes across our country and worldwide. We believe it is incredibly important to support our local and global community, as it is our call from God to be the hands and feet in mission. We share the love of God with those we meet through service and support.

Some of the organizations we support are:

The Kirk Helps the Hungry

Members of the Kirk believe it is important to help out in the community.  We donate money each month to two of our local food pantries.  We also once a month serve at the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry at the Partlow Ruritan and Livingston Elementary School drop off locations.

Each month volunteers assist at the pantry locations and serve those in need in our community.  The FRFB Mobile Pantry truck comes to each location once a month, on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.  At each location, we assist in set up, serving and packing up, all the while enjoying our time of service at each location.

Our congregation supports the Louisa Food Bank, known as the Community Cupboard located at the Louisa Resource Council, with generous, monthly, dry-good donations collected in on the first Sunday of the month.  This local organization that helps both those in need of food as well as those who have lost their homes due to fire or otherwise.

Our congregation supports the Spotsylvania Emergency Concerns Association (SECA), located behind the Spotsylvania Courthouse Area Library, with a designated monetary donation each month.  SECA helps families and individuals in Spotsylvania County with emergency needs such as: electricity, water, medicine, food, fuel, and shelter. Clients are referred to SECA by the Department of Social Services, churches, schools, and other organizations. SECA.
